Iconic fashion figure Ivan Bart, former president of IMG Models, has passed away at the age of 60 after a brief illness this past weekend.

During his illustrious career, Bart played a pivotal role in launching the careers of renowned catwalk stars, including supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, the timeless Lauren Hutton, the captivating Carolyn Murphy, and the iconic Stephanie Seymour.

The announcement of his untimely demise was posted on his official Instagram account, accompanied by a poignant black-and-white photograph of the esteemed fashion icon. The caption confirmed the heartbreaking news of Bart’s passing. He assumed the role of president at the esteemed modeling agency following the IMG-WME merger in 2014.

Bart’s significant impact on the fashion industry extended beyond individual model careers. He also played a key role in elevating the trajectory of Hailey, the talented wife of the celebrated singer Justin Bieber. Known for his unwavering support of diversity and inclusion, Bart received accolades for his trailblazing contributions to the fashion world.

Shapiro continued, “I literally sat beside him at a table with the former management team at Victoria’s Secret while he politely argued that they had to change their annual runway television special and diversify their models — size, age, race, background. He was the voice before there was a voice. He was courageous. He saw beauty in all its forms.”
