Influencers & Hollywood A-list celebrate Ralph Lauren’s first West Coast Show

Always a celebrity magnet, Lauren brought out a slice of A-list Hollywood with Lopez and Affleck, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, Sylvester Stallone, John Legend, Diane Keaton, Jessica Chastain, Laura Dern, Chris Pine and James Marsden, to name a few.

The intimate affair for some 200 people began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres like tuna tartare on a patio overlooking the lush lawns and gardens of the Huntington, which once housed Gilded Age tycoon Henry Huntington. Celebrity guests mingled along with TikTok influencers and Lauren customers.

Lopez noted that Lauren had dressed her and Affleck for their recent nuptials. “Ralph did our wedding, so we’ve become quite close,” the pop star said. ”And we really love his aesthetic.”

Kutcher said: “I think about the brands that are in America today and it’s like Coca-Cola, Nike, Ralph Lauren. In fashion, it’s Ralph Lauren. He continues to define what American fashion is, from elegance to lifestyle to sport. This was just an absolutely pure representation of Americana.”

It’s amazing!” Legend said regarding the evening. “He brought me to a new place. I’ve never been here before. I live here in Beverly Hills but I’ve never been to this part of the L.A. area and it’s just a gorgeous place. It felt really dreamy. I love the use of ‘California Dreaming’ as  motif. The soundtrack was great. I loved hearing the ‘California Dreamin’ cover. I thought that was perfect to introduce him being on the West Coast. And I thought the show was beautiful. It was really well done. We were just talking about how Ralph has been at it for over 50 years. It’s just incredible how relevant he remains. It was a beautiful show. It really is art. It’s about pacing and staging and the flow. They really did it right tonight.”Pointing to the polka dot and striped Ralph Lauren look he was wearing, Legend said, laughing, “It’s a shawl-collar robe, so it’s like I’m home and out at the same time!”

“Ralph Lauren is an iconic American gift and legend,” Dern said just after the show, as she chatted with Berkley and other friends. “Western inspiration, Gatsby inspiration, music-skate culture inspiration. I mean, it’s really all of America. It was amazing!”

As the sun sank lower, guests were summoned to the tiled entrance of the museum, where models strutted to a soundtrack of California-themed songs like “California Dreamin.”There were plenty of cowboy hats, worn-in jeans and boots to begin with, gradually morphing into fancier wear like long, bright skirts and slinky cut-out gowns for the women.

Immediately following the show was an immaculate seated dinner for every attendee catered by (who else?) the Polo Bar, with most guests opting for massive, bacon-laced burgers — served in a synchronized style by a seemingly endless parade of Ralph Lauren-clad waiters.
Despite such grand display from beginning to end, the vibe was neither exclusive nor intimidating. It was civilized yet relaxed, with A-listers mingling comfortably with the reporters, editors, clients and TikTokers making up the rest of the crowd, as if we were all somehow on the same level. (Except for Bennifer — they left after the show.)

It was an impressive, if over-the-top, production and a reminder that Lauren — who turns 83 on Tomorrow — is more than a star designer; he’s an institution who defies time, trends and financial limitations, time and time again.
